Review : A Touch Mortal

A Touch Mortal
by Leah Clifford
432 Pages
YA Novel
Published : February 22

Goodreads synopsis :

Eden didn't expect Az.

Not his saunter down the beach toward her. Not his unbelievable pick-up line. Not the instant, undeniable connection. And not his wings.

Yeah.

So long, happily-ever-after.

Now trapped between life and death, cursed to spread chaos with her every touch, Eden could be the key in the eternal struggle between heaven and hell. All because she gave her heart to one of the Fallen, an angel cast out of heaven.

She may lose everything she ever had. She may be betrayed by those she loves most. But Eden will not be a pawn in anyone else's game. Her heart is her own.

And that's only the beginning of the end.

Thoughts

When I started reading this book I thought it was going to end up like the Fallen series.  But it wasn't, Clifford made me see a whole new concept of angels, heaven, and the world.  It wasn't at all like the Fallen series and I appreciate that.

I loved how it kept me on my toes and made me want to read more about it.  The chemistry between Az and Eden are what some of us dream of without all the complications they have in the book.

The first chapter was a little bit confusing for me because she's just sitting there and it makes me feel like I have no clue what's happening.  Then throughout the book it explains what was happening in that first chapter.  The end leaves you with so many questions that you will want to read the next book.
